All Roads Start Here: History of Innovation
1986
The Founding
Years
Pankaj Jain and HSIIDC sign a joint-sector agreement for a project in Jind, Haryana
Project focuses on 100% import substitute specialty chemicals, for leather and textiles
R&D starts on high value-add auxiliaries like waxes, touch modifiers first time in India

1987
A Partnership
Forms
-
HARYANA signs a technology transfer with ICAP-SIRA, Italy for leather finishing chemicals
-
HARYANA also signed a similar technology transfer with Smit & Zoon, Holland for fatliquors
-
European team assists and trains HARYANA team to install lab & production set-up

1992
A Major Step in Emulsion Polymerization
HARYANA and ICAP-SIRA expand their partnership to develop acrylic emulsion
ICAP-SIRA’s financial and technological investments support in building emulsion lab and manufacturing set-up
HARYANA becomes the 1 st in India to introduce cross-linking polymer emulsions for leather

2000
Crossing international
borders
HARYANA is granted permission to set-up a 100% EOU facility
Export of its specialty chemicals, including acrylics, begins to neighboring countries: China, Bangladesh, Indonesia
Eventually, HARYANA expands its network to 20+ countries

2005
Focus on
sustainability
Re-map of all processes to define clear and actionable sustainability goals
By 2010, reduce waste-water to 1/5 th , leading to ZLD – zero liquid discharge status
By 2015, transition from solvent to water-based coatings, polymers

2012
A Major Pivot: Innovation in PVC Additives
Diversify acrylics beyond leather chemicals, setting the foundation for PVC additives
Start research on Acrylic Impact Modifier and Processing Aids through in-house lab-scale set-up
Develop pilot-scale acrylic reactor and spray-drier set-up

2013
Growing Our
Capacity
Set-up our full-scale iconic 4000MT p.a pressure nozzle spray-tower for PVC additives
Launch PVC additives branded under “Paracryl” series
Ongoing R&D as product is 80% fit for market, continued work on quality improvement

2024
Progress + Set-up of Akrelon division
Re-brand and create new division named AKRELON to prioritize PVC additives as key project
Deep-dive benchmarking study to optimize product quality and compete with European brands
Expand techno-commercial team to provide Indian PVC processors with direct technical support
